The Institute for Engaged Learning (IEL) was intentionally created by IU Indianapolis to support student success and student learning. At the core of the IEL’s mission is to promote the equitable access to engaged learning opportunities for all students. Our goal is to ensure that all undergraduate students at IU Indianapolis participate in 4 scaffolded engaged learning experiences (averaging one per academic year) along an engaged learning pathway. Along this pathway, students will engage in a variety of applied and integrative experiences which will require them to communicate, innovate, and tackle local and global problems of the Twenty-first century.
