HPV Vaccine Hesitancy
Background: HPV is a cancer prevention vaccine, and cancer survivors and African Americans are at higher risk for HPV-related cancers. HPV vaccine hesitancy is a serious problem among cancer survivors and minoritized populations, and a contributor to vaccine hesitancy is provider unwillingness to give a vaccine or to make a strong recommendation. Objective: To describe pediatric cancer and sickle cell disease providers’ perspectives toward vaccinating against HPV.
