Supporting HIV Care and Outcomes Among Adolescents

The primary objective is to understand influences at the family and household level on care, treatment, and outcomes of adolescents with HIV/AIDS. This qualitative study involves analysis of in-depth interviews with adolescents who have disengaged from HIV care, parents / caregivers, and healthcare workers. Data is then qualitatively coded; reports of codes are generated for further analysis of themes surrounding family-level challenges. Observations are then compiled from the interviews and categorized with applicable codes and key excerpts. To organize and supply further detail to the analysis. These aspects contribute to the thematic analysis of the interviews and conclusions from this study. This approach emphasizes opportunities for family-level intervention to improve outcomes of adolescents living with HIV.
