Tax Processing Intern

I am a tax processing intern for Somerset CPAs & Advisors. Somerset is a public accounting firm whose focus is to fulfill all commercial accounting and financial consulting needs. As a tax processing intern, I am responsible to review tax returns before sending them to the client for their review and signature (form 8879). I work within a team who share this responsibility, so collaboration is common and easy. The software we use to accomplish these goals are CCH Axcess applications, SafeSend, Outlook, Teams, and a couple of in-house created programs, which includes a Microsoft Access database. As we are working amid COVID-19, we are required to uphold strict procedures to prevent COVID’s spread. Many of Somerset’s employees only go into the office once or twice a week and work from home the other days. However, I have chosen to work within the office daily (while maintaining policy guidelines)- and have tried to introduce myself to others so that I may integrate well within the Somerset community.
