A Double Standard in the Art World
During the 20th century there were emerging works of many women artists throughout this time in history. Dada, Surrealism, and Abstract Expressionism were three periods that let individuals show off their creativity. Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven, Meret Oppenheim, and Lee Krasner were three women who showcased work during these periods. Oftentimes the work of their male counterparts is more recognizable than the work of these women. This paper covers the importance of these three women.
