The Echoes in the Black Atlantic
The Echoes in the Black Atlantic is a digital humanities and research based project that engages students in “mapping” their own proximity to the lasting effects of enslavement and colonialism. The purpose of this project is to connect scholars and students from multiple institutions within the geographic Black Atlantic as partner locations for the exchanges, study trips, and research. I contributed to this project by giving accounts of my family genealogy. Through the narratives, I was able to discover new family connections which would help me connect to the diaspora. The next part of this project is to continue making connections between my findings and my place within and across the diaspora.
