Locked Out: Barriers to Higher Education for Formerly Incarcerated Individuals
We have been investigating the ability of people with a criminal conviction or period of incarceration to pursue post-secondary education at institutions in Indiana. The majority of people with a criminal history are discriminated against because of their record and as a result, unable to pursue higher education. Our goal for our research is for it to be used to change the IU campus' admissions policies to accept formerly incarcerated people as students.
