Supporting Research Regarding Physician Wellness
This project consists of supporting research regarding defining physician wellness to reach a consensus on the first official definition of physician wellness, as agreed upon by expert family medicine faculty and physicians themselves. One goal of this research is to center the opinions and voices of BIPOC physicians (black, indigenous, and people of color). This is to be done through researching recently published literary work on medical and physician wellness and well-being to gain some background information on research that has already been conducted. The research is to be summarized in a literature review. The primary way this research project will be conducted is by conducting focus groups of teams of physicians with expertise in medical well-being who will aim to reach a consensus on an official, agreed-upon definition of well-being and its components. This research project is currently in the works and there is much yet to be done to reach completion.
