Open Doors to Opportunity

I started in THRIVE as a student, but this opened so many opportunities for me. I went on to become a mentor and program assistant too. THRIVE is a first-year seminar program specially designed for independent students who have experienced housing insecurity, foster care, or have been disconnected from their familial support. This year as the program assistant I had 4 main goals; develop our social media pages to increase our engagement and attendance at events, plan and facilitate training sessions for our mentoring team, coordinate and host a guest speaker event from the IUPUI multicultural center and LGBTQ+ center, and recruit 40+ students into the next year's cohort. I am proud to say that I have completed them all!
