Tax Processing Internship Summary

Starting my first internship with Somerset has been an experience like no other. I have excelled past my peer interns working independently against a national deadline. One of my main goals when starting this experience was to develop a rounded professional profile. I started learning about to process tax returns for partnerships and corporations, and further to independent returns. This is a new skill and experience to add to my business resume. I have also acquired the skill of scanning in confidential documents to be prepared by accountants and strengthened my skills in Microsoft Axcess and Excel from my learning in courses. This experience has opened doors for me to explore other areas of business and incorporate things I like/dislike into my future entrepreneurship. My communication skills have improved greatly. I no longer have anxiety with being in new places with new faces, and I have more confidence in myself. My past experience in banking has helped the connection with financial terms and interactions with clients. I am proud of the experience in the tax field because I have connected with new people, learned more business ideas, and have created a well-rounded portfolio for my future career.
